Not all cases of abuse are reported by the victim. It's important for you and your colleagues as well as the sfaffs and volunteers to know how to identify and respond to possible indications of abuse.
POSSIBLE SIGNS OF ABUSE
- Ongoing inappropriate (sexually tinted) behaviour
- Loss of self-confidence or self-esteem
- Social withdrawal or a loss of interest or enthusiasm
- Headaches or stomach aches with no medical cause
- Avoidance of certain situations, such as refusing to do group work or ride on the bus
- Never responding
- Physical sign
- Open bullying and harassment
